Good bot checklist
A quick review of value, logic, and usability.
Before inviting users¶
- The welcome message explains what the bot can do.
- The main scenario works from start to finish.
- Unexpected input gets a useful response.
- Buttons name actions and lead where expected.
- Cancellation and retries do not create extra records.
- Messages reach the right recipient without duplicates.
- Different users' data stays separate.
- Deletion, bulk actions and permission grants have checks.
- Secrets stay out of replies and screenshots.
- The flow is saved, replies are enabled and errors have been reviewed.
If AI is involved, also test an incorrect model answer, an empty result and service failure. A fluent answer is not necessarily a correct one.
