Telegram chat settings and invites
Appearance, default permissions, invites and chat details.
What these blocks change¶
These are group or channel settings, not the bot's profile. The bot needs access to the target chat and the required permissions.
- Reading details changes nothing.
- Permission changes affect members.
- Revoking a link prevents joins through that link.
- Leaving a chat removes the bot itself.
Do not accept an arbitrary chat ID from user input without checking access.
Telegram connections and permissions →
Set chat permissions¶
Changes the chat's default member permissions.
- Set the chat and allowed actions, such as sending messages or media.
- This changes shared chat rules. Use Restrict member for one person.
Replace primary invite link¶
Creates a new primary invite link, replacing the bot's previous primary link.
- Set the chat and keep the new link from the result.
- The previous primary link is revoked. Use Create invite link for an additional link without replacing the primary one.
Create invite link¶
Creates an additional invite link.
- Set the chat and optionally a name, expiry, member limit or join approval requirement.
- Keep the returned link to send it to the user. Check that your selected restrictions are compatible.
Edit invite link¶
Changes settings on the bot's invite link.
- Set the chat, existing link and new restrictions.
- A link created by another administrator may not be editable.
Create subscription invite¶
Creates a paid subscription invite link where the chat supports this entry method.
- Set the chat, price, subscription period and an optional link name.
- Check Telegram's requirements and permissions before sharing the link. This is not a botnest plan.
Edit subscription invite¶
Changes the editable settings of an existing subscription invite.
- Set the chat, link and new name.
- This action cannot change every subscription term. Use the fields available in the block.
Revoke invite link¶
Revokes an invite link to prevent further joins through it.
- Set the chat and exact link.
- People who already joined remain members. Removing them is a separate action.
Set chat photo¶
Sets a chat photo.
- Set the chat and the Telegram file_id of a suitable image.
- This changes the group or channel photo, not the bot's avatar. An ordinary image URL is not a file_id.
Delete chat photo¶
Removes the chat's current photo.
- Set the chat and check the bot's permission to change its appearance.
- The bot's own avatar is not affected.
Set chat title¶
Changes a group or channel title.
- Set the chat and new title.
- This is not the bot's name. Test the title in a test chat before broad use.
Set chat description¶
Changes a chat's description.
- Set the chat and new description text.
- Keep it concise and check the bot's permission to change chat information.
Set chat sticker set¶
Assigns a sticker set to a chat.
- Set the chat and sticker set name.
- Check that the chat supports this setting and the bot can change it.
Remove chat sticker set¶
Removes a chat's assigned sticker set.
- Set the chat and check the bot's permissions.
- The sticker set itself is not deleted; only its assignment to the chat is removed.
Get chat¶
Gets information about a chat.
- Supply an accessible chat ID and a result name.
- Use the returned fields in conditions and text. This reads chat details, not message history.
Get chat administrators¶
Gets a list of chat administrators.
- Set the chat; configure whether bots are included if needed.
- The result is a list. Use a loop to act on each administrator.
Get member count¶
Gets the number of members in a chat.
- Set the chat and result name.
- This is a count, not a user list. Compare it in a condition or insert it into a message.
Leave chat¶
Makes the bot leave a chat.
- Set the exact chat. Connect this action only after an explicit check or confirmation.
- After leaving, the bot cannot operate normally in that chat until it is added again.
