Design the conversation
Branches, states, errors, and exits.
Break the conversation into steps¶
- Entry: a message, command or button click.
- Check: what the person wants and whether enough data is available.
- Action: send a reply, store a row or contact a service.
- Next step: what the person can do afterwards.
/start is an incoming message too. Compare ${message.text} with /start in a Condition block.
For multi-question dialogs¶
Each new message starts the flow again. Store the conversation stage in a current-chat variable to remember which question was asked. Read it at the start of the next run and choose the appropriate branch.
Provide a way out¶
- Let the person cancel or start again.
- Confirm what happened after a button click.
- Provide a response on the No branch instead of leaving the person waiting.
